Ordered three sets of beads strands from a Etsy vendor located in India The beads were far smaller than stated on the site. They wanted me to ship it back. the return postage via fed ex was more expensive than than the semi precious beads! What a racket! Plus a bead was broken !!! Never buy from etsy! Especially from unethical vendors.

Etsy customer service stinks.

I have never had to deal with so much BS in my life. Etsy and their NON HUMAN RESPONSES AND LIST OF *** RESPONSES is totally useless . Their "Automated response" to let you know they received your message is ONE big waste of time. They say that the sellers are indivual stores, but Etsy is control of everything. I just once would like to talk to a seller. Or a HUMAN, WITH A MOUTH THAT TALKS CONNECTED WITH ETSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I KNOW ETSY WILL NOT GET THIS CONPLAINT. OR IF THEY DO IT WILL MAKE NIT ONE BIT OF DIFFERENCE. EBAY IS SO SO MUCH BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO HELPING. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. AND YOU GET TO TALK TO A REAL LIVE PERSON WITH A NAME. IT WOULD TAKE ALL DAY TO TELL MY EXPERIENCE, AND ETSY WOULD NOT HELP ANYWAY.

Received my necklace with a spelling error and messaged her as soon as I noticed with a picture. Initially she was great and said she would send a replacement right away. No replacement came and my messages once a month for four months have gone unanswered. Etsy claims they "can do nothing at this point" and my money is still in her pocket.

I ordered a locket from Etsy's website (seller : Primitive Pin Cushion). Paid $30.00 and received a piece of junk that does not open without a force and once opened, is all rusty inside. The seller was rude when contacted and Etsy's customer service did absolutely nothing to help me. I feel as Etsy is either a "crooked" company that makes some extra money off of collecting money up front and allowing to sell garbage, or they just couldn't care less about their customers. Please be aware of this company's tactics. They will take your money and you will get nothing in return!!!!!

Etsy is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I was in a car accident a few months ago and was in and out of physical therapy, living in the hospital and then at my parents. I'm in a wheelchair temporarily and have gone home, finally. Well since I am currently considered disabled, I cannot work. Now comes Etsy. Before my accident I had 1200+ sales and was a 5 star seller of 2 years. Of course, it was not predicted what was going to happen and therefore my Etsy shop went dead. I had sales that I needed to complete but could not get to them. Cases were filed, reviews left. I had no way to contact anyone to let them know what happened and that a refund would be coming. Well, I logged on for the first time since October and noticed it was suspended. I figured as much and went ahead and contacted them. They told me to close the 2 cases I had and pay my bill up to date, which was $200 I really didn't have. I was just excited to get back into it! So i closed the cases and paid my bill. Well 4 days passed and I didn't get a response to 2 of my emails. Today I sent another and "rushed" the email, in which I finally got a response. The respose was this "Our records show that your account shares sufficient information with an account whose privileges have been revoked for us to consider them related. As a result, we’ve terminated your account privileges as well. To protect the integrity of this process, I cannot disclose the specifics of our internal review criteria. Attempting to open additional accounts is a violation we take very seriously. Any new accounts will be closed immediately and without notice. Unfortunately, we cannot revisit your account status at this time and we will not respond to further inquiries about this." So not only are the guessing i'm associated with another account, they don't TELL me what account or the reason and they also say they won't speak further of the matter? REALLY?? Now I'm going to say this, I had a sister shop which was solely one item I sold a lot of in my original. I wanted to split them up to.make it easier. Yes, I had 2 shops. But the second shop was suspended because of my main one, because of the cases and the bill. I only had 7 sales on the second shop and not one buyer had a case against me nor did I owe a bill. ALSO, this second shop had been put on vacation mode in August without a sale or anything... 2 months prior. It makes no sense. So not only did they tell me to do these steps before reviewing, I gave them money I didnt have in hopes I could get back into selling to make it up. All I'm going to say is screw Etsy and the Better Business Bureau can deal with them to get me an explanation on their assumptions.

Hacked.

I've been hacked to the point of trying get my shop off Etsy and prevented from getting off by being redirected by this hacker in my shop. I can't log in, can't get ahold of Etsy, and I'm very unhappy. I'm going to get my financial info off and get totally away from this site. It's cost me thousands in false transactions stolen funds. I've been with Etsy since 2008 and you'd think they would have protected their sellers better if they want to stay in business.

I was suspended before I even bought anything. I have no idea why and no one EVER calls me back even though it says they will try to within 30 minutes. I emailed them, no response. I guess no one on the site wants my money....very poor administration. When you have problems you want answered the site takes you in circles never answering the question. I have an email that is at least as old as AOL and good credit and accounts. It makes no sense to me, you would think they would want to be nice to people signing up instead of banning them and not explaining what I did wrong.

Etsy, the Kim Jong-un of marketplaces

I've been a dealer on Etsy for almost 2 years. In that time I've had 4 occasions when I needed to send a question to their support team...2 technical questions, a policy question, and a concern about a buyer. To my 4 questions I received exactly 1 response. The response I received was a canned reply, it was clear that no one had read my message, they had simply sent a prefabricated reply based on some keyword in the title of the inquiry. I replied to that message with clarification about question, and of course received a dusty silence in response. Instead, I directed my question to the Etsy's discussion forums, where members give each other advice. In the forum I mentioned that I hadn't received any relevant reply from Etsy support, and then, much to my surprise, it turned out someone does work at Etsy because they read my forum comment and erased the message. Confused, I returned to the forum again for advice from other sellers but then got a computer generated notice: "You don't have permission to participate in this discussion." That was a year ago, since then I haven't had permission to ask any questions in the forum, my account has been muzzled, and if you google the phrase "Etsy muzzled my account" you'll find countless people in the same situation. If you want to sell on Etsy and can anticipate that you might one day need some seller support, good luck. If you then turn to the member forums for advice, prepare for Etsy to finally take notice of you as it exercises its Kim Jong-un approach to the exchange of information and idea (or God forbid criticism of Etsy's supreme leader).
