Etsy does not care about the customer at all!
Etsy really is terrible with customer service. I had a issue with a shop that wouldn't send me an item I purchased, and Etsy did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for me. I tried reporting the problem dozens of time to the Etsy website, and they responded everytime with some version of "Sorry, we can't help you, work it out with the seller." Well, where is the customer service in that? I was so disgusted with their absolute lack of customer service that I reported them to the BBB. I will never shop form their website again because if something goes wrong with a seller (and there are a lot of shady ones out there) they will do absolutely nothing on your behalf. They are only there to protect the seller and themselves, so as a buyer, BEWARE.

I had a terribLe experience with a seller and want to post feedback tomwarn other buyers but cant because the feedbackmperiod passed. Unfortunately it passed long, long before i got the product so i was never able to review it. I have since read on other sites that Etsy scammers know how this works and use it to their advantage. If you make a purchase and are not happy with it- particulalry if you dont actually get it until eight months after the ship by date - you should be able to provide feedback. I will never shop on Etsy again as a result of this policy because now i know i cant trust the feedback - since a company can easily avoid getting reviews they dont want. The product arrived eig months late and damaged and delivered by UPS though i paid for white glove shipping.

I ordered a men's infinity scarf from the seller's etsy store. In person, the white threads woven through the gray scarf looked sparkly. Sparkly in a men's scarf is not a good look. I told the seller, Yvette, my issue with the scarf and she said I could send it back. Unfortunately, it was all I had to give a friend for Christmas, so I had to go through with the gifting. He said the sparkliness wasn't that noticeable and wore it that day. But the next time he wore it in the fluorescent lights of the NYC subway, he saw the scarf in all its sparkly glory. I sent it back and told Yvette to keep her eye out for it in the mail. Two weeks go by without a peep from Yvette, so I message her on etsy asking if she recieved the package. She says, yes, she has, but that I am in violation of her shop policies (returned after 10 days without tags) and she cannot refund me. I reply "Fair enough, what do you suggest we do?" I fully expected the only rational response there is: "I'll have to send the scarf back to you." (And maybe she'd charge me to ship it.) What I got was silence. For months. I reminded her that, alas, she can't keep the item AND the money paid for it. Silence. I threated her with a BBB complaint. Silence. I had my sister message her and ask her what in the world her problem is. Silence. When the BBB finally got in touch with her, she agreed to send the scarf back if I paypal-ed her $5 for shipping. I contacted her on etsy to confirm that she'll hold up her end of the bargain. And what do you know? Silence. The only time she wasn't silent was when she reviewed me on etsy (the nerve!). She called me an *** clown for my many polite entreaties that she do the right thing. Yvette is a shady seller. Stay away!
No refund, no item, no compensation for my time | Etsy review
I am getting the runaround from a shop called NouveauRetro. I purchased a hat from them on March 18, 2013 and they shipped it to the wrong person and shipped me that person's item. They asked me to forward the item I got to the other person, which I did costing me time and $15.25 in shipping. They said the other person would forward my item, which never happened. They never shipped my item, never provided me with tracking info and are giving me the runaround about my refund with Paypal. Initially they agreed to compensate me for my time standing in line at the post office in addition to my refund but are now saying they don't want to.

I had a terrible experience buying something on Etsy that was not as described. When I asked the seller for a refund, she agreed, then changed her mind and stopped responding to me. I disputed through PayPal and then received a series of harassing e-mails from this seller demanding I send back her defective items immediately or she would take "legal action." Keep in mind the items were less than $10 and, accounting for the damage, probably worth less than half that amount. Etsy refused to block this seller for misrepresenting her merchandise or block her from contacting me. It wasn't until I put a complaint into the BBB that I got any response from them, which was only to tell me to stop contacting her?! Complete BS and total waste of my time to have to deal with this mess. Most of the sellers on Etsy are nice, but you will rue the day when you have a crazy one and have nowhere to turn for support!
ALL THESE etsy SHOPS ARE NOTHING BUT HOBBY LOBBY *** FROM CHINA NOT VINTAGE OR HANDMADE PERIOD WHO ARE YOU KIDDING after etsy threatened to suspend our shop over one "offending" item that was miscategorized....and they leached off our over 2000 sales I had to point out...
