I have been with Etsy for many years. Just today, summer of '24, I learned that they keep the taxes collected and, upon further reading the fine print, if you don't make at least $500 in sales, they don't even have to file it with the IRS.

So, where does that money go? Also, I agreed to a $.20 ad fee and a 6.5% of the final sale amount for Etsy. They charged me that all right, and then 6.5% again of the shipping charge? And 6.5% again for handling?

They did not ship it. They did not handle it and I did not agree to it, especially because they had already taken it out of those two things in the 6.5% they took. The total was 16% which equated to over eight dollars for a $48 sale. I still have to package it, ship it, cover the postage and gas.

I don't even know if I'll break even on this sale. That's absolutely unacceptable. I'll be calling the Better Business Bureau today as well as the IRS. When you try to call Customer Service, the number is disconnected in the states.

It used to be a great platform; obviously, it has changed hands -- not acceptable. Sellers beware.

I have made numerous attempts to get satisfaction for a purchase on your website, but to no avail. I have made many efforts to contact the seller, but no one is home.

PayPal has even tried to resolve this issue, and told me I'm on my own, 'which also infuriated me as much as I spend with them'. All I am asking for is a refund for an item I never received. The amusing part of this whole incident is that you (Etsy) know about the issue and are still giving me the runaround. I have many followers in the online community and if I can steer just one buyer away from your website, that will be satisfactory enough for me.

I can't believe this!!! I have been through so much crap with this company just trying to open a shop!!!

They had suspended my shop for inactivity, which is reasonable. I gave them my ID, my state Tax ID proof, my SS#, etc. I got it open again, and then immediately after I made only ONE SALE, they shut my shop down permanently!!! They told me I can never open a shop again!

I am so pissed!!! I have already sent the item to the customer! They refunded the money ($300!) to the customer and shut my shop down!!! I am just grateful that this occurred before I invested too much in this company.

It's a blessing in disguise. I wish I had read these reviews before I signed up.

They have had a good reputation in the past, but I can see that it is going bad fast now. This is a business opportunity for somebody else, for sure.

I have ordered a set of 3 porcelain fish as a decoration for the terrace wall for 24 from the Spanish website and paid the shipping cost of 29.

They sent me a single fish which was completely different in color from the fish in the photo and which was not on their website at all. They said they meant 1 fish cost 24.

If it was a single fish, they don't have any system for us to point out which one of the 3 fish I wanted. Moreover, this single fish (around 16cm long) was packed in rubbish magazine paper and in a rubbish, dirty cardboard box! I have never seen a commercial product packed like garbage. I had an internet conversation with him and he was very rude.

It is obvious he cheated intentionally and such a vendor shouldn't be allowed on your website.

I would like a refund of the full amount. In the meantime, he has deleted these fish from the Spanish website, but still offers them on the Hong Kong website even though he told me those fish are no longer available.
